Hi!!
Its the juneholidays so I have some time to relax (not really).
It has been a long time since i went out with Haiting, my fellow cafe buddy. A lot of my food dense blog posts is probably with the company of Haiting! Its been about 2 years since we became friends, and I am so glad we did!
First stop was The Laneway Cafeway. Since it is located very near my house, about 5 minutes walk, I of course agreed to the suggestion. Hehe. I have walked past the cafe on my own but have not visited, since it is a relatively new cafe. It is along tanjong katong road.
The service was daebak, I must commend. The lady was so helpful, I lost count of how many times I said "Its alright" or "Thankyou!"
Haiting was kind of disappointed she couldn't order The Laneway Breakfast which she had been looking forward to, bummer. But we still ordered. She ordered some hash brown with pork thing?
I ordered a toast with smoked salmon and eggs on top. It was garnished with alfalfa, apple, and mushrooms. It was alright, I would rate it 3/5. For mine it was $14. I believe its the same for Haiting's.
We shared an earl grey latte, mostly because of the presentation. Was quite disappointed because on the menu the latte had more purple petals on the latte, but in real life there was just small bits (as you can see from the picture). It was good otherwise.
As usual, Haiting and I spent a good 20mins arranging and taking pictures. Of the food. Haiting is super particular about everything so. We actually moved from inside to outside and transferred the food whatsoever, so Haiting could get better lighting. They also wound up the shelter above us so we could get more sunlight.
I didn't get to try any dessert or bread that they sold there, but I intend to on my next visit :)
Second stop was Tian Kee & Co
It is also really close to my house, about 2mins walk away from Dakota MRT. My mom actually brought me to check out the place before it became famous, so I'm quite impressed Mom. Hahaha
This cafe is of course most famous for their rainbow cheesecake. I don't eat cheese or cake, but nonetheless I still wanted to check out the cake. Seeing the perfectly pastel cake on instagram still didn't convince me that its legit.
The cake was $7.50. Not something I would purchase again IMO, maybe because i don't usually eat such food, or maybe because I didn't notice any distinct taste. But of course typical us spend money for nice pictures. Actually its more on Haiting.
We took a good 25 minutes taking pictures again before eating. Shifting from place to place etc. Thats what you have to endure when you travel with a avid food blogger and instagrammer. And that I obviously mean Haiting
Look at how perfect the colour is!!! I especially love pastel colours so, its good.
Apart from the cheesecake, we ordered a salted caramel latte which was $5.50. Tbh i didn't taste any salt in the drink, but maybe its just me, cause Haiting said she could taste it.
After that we headed to meet the AK family and help out with the camp graduation ceremony. I am really sad I can't coach this season for the sake of studying and keeping on track. Which makes me more determined to coach next season and do well for O's!
With a small fraction of the coaches. Spot my nikes.
With some friends. Darius and Marcus are the most annoying shit but great friends. Thanks guys
I went home around 11+. The next day I went for session at church with Faith Sycas. It was interesting because we went out to give bread and salonpas to the unappreciated, lonely etc. Just an act of kindness. But its quite surprising to me because a lot of people rejected our gesture. At the same time there were those people who had a huge wide smile on their face and thanked us.
I gave one of my breads to a balloon sculptor to had no people to entertain at all. I told him "Hope you accept this bread and it will make your day" And in turn he offered to give me a balloon. I said "Haha its alright" and he replied "If you accept my balloon it will make my day too" And of course I had to say yes. He made me a pink flower :) Thank you
After the event I went to Bedok with Jasmine. Did a lot of walking and talking about life.
Bought the green tea drink from smoothie king and I've been hooked ever since. Its addictive
Lastly, my dad finally agreed to get me new Nikes hehe. I don't usually buy coloured shoes, (I 98% of the time buy black) but i decided this time I should switch things up a bit :)
Second pair of the year already haha
I think I look like a magazine editor here man HAHA okay maybe not. Meh
I hope you liked reading this post, I'll update soon :)
