Hi!! So many things have happened since my last blogpost
Butttt i will update things slowly bit by bit :)
SO after prom band finally had our POP. Which stands for pass out party for those who don't know. Which is also mainly for the farewell of Sec 4s.
Before the actual POP, the three seniors of flute section decided to meet to buy our beloved juniors some weird pressies. Three seniors aka Hongran, yongxin and I hehe
It was such a fun day out and we only decided to meet up like 1hr before in the morning LOL. But times together with these two will never be boring. They are one of the main reasons why I could press on the long hours of band
Basically we bought jam for our juniors LMAO it was so damn random. But i guess its a good representation of the three crazy seniors our section is blessed with HAHAH. We bought charms for our whole section too. Then we just sat down to write cards for the whole section.
In the middle of our card writing this magician came up to us to do a magic trick. He asked us to choose a card and then mixed it up. Then he asked yongxin to hold the cards (all fanned out) facing in the same direction, and then used my phone to take a picture. After that he told us to look at the picture he took and said that in the picture, all the cards will be facing out except the card we chose. TRUE ENOUGH it happened. We three were like spazzing in shock HAHA. I don't think I did a good explanation of the trick but whatever hahahah it was a good one!!!
Came the day of the actual POP. Nicole made this rise krispies snack thing which was super good omg i ate like 3. They also brought brownies and more food and cards. I love my juniors. Flute section always has the most fun POP stuff hehe
Cassia!!!
Not to forget our flute traditions of popping "champagne" bottles. But obv not real alcohol lmao its sparkling juice HAHA close enough.
This photo below means a lot to me, it has a lot of sentimental value. Because it shows the flute section I was the closest to and now we have all finally graduated...
2013 Sherilyn and Eunice
2014 Meiling
2015 Elizabeth Hongran Yongxin :')
As you can see there are other corks from even more years ago, which represents the more senior seniors from flute. We kept all these corks in the music box for our section (together with tuners etc) and the current section can always see it during practice :) I would say my section is pretty dope i love them
My bottle!!
The three graduates of 2015~~
Thanks so much to my juniors Nicole, Cassia, Xingyi, Minjae, and Nicole (sec1) for remembering to buy the bottles and making super nice treats and cards. And most importantly being there for me in band.
For those who are close to me, they would know I actually detest band a lot. Most of the times I would go to the extent and say hate. Haha.
I chose to opt out of SYF because I wasn't willing to dedicate my time for strenuous practice hours, being scolded by my conductor (most of the time wrongfully), being anxious and panicky throughout those hours. My time in band was not enjoyable mostly because of my conductor, who was always biased against me, quite obviously. I realised this was the case because when a different conductor takes over a practice, I find myself really enjoying band, listening and playing to the music. I don't regret my decision cause I feel like my well being is more important than 5-6 more cca points lol. Even though I had the major part of being Flute 1 (other supporting parts are Flute 2 etc) and kind of left my section 1 person less in the competition, my section mates were still very supportive of my decision and feelings and for that I'm very thankful.
No matter how much I detest band though, the people in my section have really kept my momentum going for these almost 4years. Yongxin and I always laugh at the stupidest shit. Definitely there are some fun times of my band experience too. I've also learnt a lot more about music from joining band and have a wider perspective and greater appreciation for band music.
Other people I want to mention are Wenjin, Woobin, Justin, Shaoyang. These people are have also made my band time faster to pass and also sometimes my pon buddies HAHAA no regrets. Juniors like Yongyee and Xavier too!!
This is I guess what I have to say about my band times and I'm thankful for my section.
I've been waiting to finally graduate from band and I'm glad I've finally made it
